Our Story
My parents, Dot and Dart Peterson, are the inspiration for Lake Champlain Cruises out on our trawler M/V Loon. Despite their modest means, they made it a priority to introduce all three of their children to a wide variety of enriching experiences throughout our formative years.
Sometimes in cramped station wagons, other times in rented RVs, Dot and Dart treated us to countless road trips, and we had visited every state east of the Mississippi by the time I was 10 years-old.
We explored highways and waterways, quaint villages and bustling cities, museums and natural wonders…each new experience building on the last. They succeeded in encouraging our curiosity and instilling in us a deep and lifelong appreciation for the rich diversity and incredible beauty of North America.
Each in our own way, my sisters and I have built our lives around embracing new and enriching experiences. That’s Dot & Dart’s legacy. They truly lived their belief that, “the best things in life aren’t things.”
Lake Champlain Cruises is my way of paying it forward. Owned and operated by Dot Dart Marine LLC, my hope is to share M/V Loon with travelers and locals alike, providing a comfortable place where families and friends can create special experiences and lifelong memories.
